I have two plugins I use on FireFox on a daily basis. One is used when I’m moderating a forum for a client, the other is used for web design. I’ll give a brief description of them both below and a link to the plugins page. Happy Surfing!
This amazing plugin is a unitasker, but it saves me a great deal of time. I moderate a forum for one of my clients. This forum uses check boxes for its post delete function. If you have to deal with pages that use check boxes, this plugin will be your new best friend. Once you’ve installed the lougin, follow these easy steps!
Step 1, Highlight the rows you want to delete (click and drag). Don’t worry if you have some keepers in there, you can always uncheck them.
Step 2, Right click and choose “Check.”
It’s that easy! I usually have to delete full pages of posts because of spam so this plugin has really saved me a lot of time. Don’t forget to uncheck any items you want to keep!
Setting aside metaphors about football and other sports, success in life and work is all about having a great team. Gone are the days when that team had to be in-office as bookkeepers, web designers and office assistants opt for working virtually. Teaming with a Virtual Assistant is a great way for a business to save money, free up valuable time and focus on clients instead of mundane administrative tasks. Here are just a few ways a Virtual Assistant can help you.
- Lead Management
- Tracking and Analytics
- Database Management
- Web Site Maintenance
- Desktop Publishing
- Account Registration and maintenance
- Social Media Marketing
While it may seem like a VA’s hourly rate is much higher than that of an employee, it’s not really when you compare the overall cost of that employee. With an employee you are responsible for vacation pay, sick pay, health care costs, employment taxes and other costs. Your Virtual Assistant will handle these costs on their own. Your only responsibility is sending a 1099 at the end of the year.
If you think working with a Virtual Assistant is too expensive, think again. Virtual Assistants or VAs bill only for time worked and in minute increments. No no more paying for an employee to sit around looking for something to do. Also, Virtual Assistants come equipped with their own computers and software so you don’t have that investment to worry about.
One more advantage of working with a Virtual Assistant is training. A VA who bids on a project, should already have the training needed to complete the project. This minimizes the learning curve and gets your project done often in less time than it would take to train an in-office assistant to do the same job.

As a virtual assistant, I deal with PDF files on a regular basis. Sometimes I have to take them apart and sometimes I have to put them together. I recently found a couple of great tools to make both of these processes much easier. Let me introduce you to Wondershare PDF Splitter and PDF Merger.
Both products are available online for immediate download. Both install quickly and easily. Both are inexpensive tools at $14.95 each.
PDF Splitter is a small program that installs to your hard drive and allows you to take a PDF file and break it down. You can split it into single pages, by bookmarks or by page range. You can also tell the program to split the PDF averagely and it will break it down into the number of files you select. For $15 this program is a must have for dealing with PDF files.

PDF Merger is another great tool from Wondershare. This program also installs directly onto your hard drive and allows you to merge multiple pdf files into a single PDF file. With PDF Merger you can add and rearrange your files so they come out in the order you want.
